A well deserved achievement! Although the result wasn’t what we had hoped for we are incredibly proud of our players for their hard work, determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.A special thank you to our coaches for their guidance and commitment, our referees for ensuring fair and competitive games, all the schools that participated in the tournament and all the supporters for showing up, cheering us on and standing behind the teams every step of the way. "We were very fortunate to have TruLife spend some time with our learners, covering a number of very relevant issues that young people are faced with today.Our Grade 8 and 9 learners watched DNA, which focused strongly on alcohol use, decision-making and the impact that our choices can have on our lives. It encouraged learners to think about the decisions they make, the pressures and influences around them, and how one choice can sometimes have much bigger consequences than expected.The Grade 10–12 learners attended a presentation on human trafficking. This was a huge eye-opener for many of our learners and, at times, an emotional experience. It challenged some of their ideas about what human trafficking looks like and helped them understand how real and relevant this issue is, particularly for young people.Our Grade 11s also took part in a relationships workshop, which gave them the opportunity to explore the relationships in their own lives. They looked at what makes a good friend, what a toxic friendship can look like, and how the people we surround ourselves with can have an impact on us.A big thank you to the TruLife team for spending time with our learners and for tackling these important topics in such an engaging and meaningful way.
